🍽 Step-by-Step Recipe: Sardines with Tofu and Sweet Potato Leaves (Talbos)
🛒 Ingredients:
2 cans sardines in tomato sauce
2 blocks firm tofu, cut into pieces
2 cups sweet potato leaves (Talbos)
1 medium onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 medium tomatoes, diced
2 cups water
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
½ tsp ground pepper
Cooking oil for frying
A pinch of seasoning
🔥 Instructions:
1️⃣ Fry the Tofu: Heat oil in a pot, add tofu pieces, and fry until golden brown. Flip and fry the other side. Set aside and cut into cubes.
2️⃣ Sauté Aromatics: In a clean pot, add oil and sauté onions until soft. Add garlic and stir until fragrant.
3️⃣ Cook Tomatoes: Add diced tomatoes, stir, and let them soften to release their natural sweetness.
4️⃣ Add Sweet Potato Leaves: Stir in the Talbos and let it cook until tender. Cover for a few minutes.
5️⃣ Add Sardines & Water: Pour in the sardines with sauce, stir, and add water. Mix well and let simmer.
6️⃣ Season & Add Tofu: Sprinkle ground pepper, salt, and additional seasoning. Toss in the fried tofu cubes and stir to coat them with flavor.
7️⃣ Final Touch: Let everything simmer for a minute, then turn off the heat. Serve hot with rice and enjoy! 🍚🔥
