Aaron Scott Mathewson Memorial Video - We Still Feel You Here Son
Aaron Scott Mathewson was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident in Bakersfield California on March 18, 2016. Aaron sustained severe head injuries in the accident. After having a brain surgery, and multiple small strokes at Kern Medical Center, it was clear that the swelling of his brain, pressing against his skull had caused significant and irreparable damage to his brain. Subsequently, after much deliberation, it became infinitely clear that he would likely never be able to survive without remaining on life support. Permanent comma, and life support was the most likely prognosis. If, at some point he would be able to sustain life without life support measures, it was also most likely that he would never return to us from comma, and would remain in a total vegetative state. In essence, Aaron, a spirit, as we all are, would remain trapped in his damaged beyond repair body indefinitely.
On March 25, 2016, Aaron's legal next of kin had come to the decision in Aaron's best interest was to "let him go"... to set his spirit free from this earthly body. It is the most difficult thing that a person has to ever do.
The family, having no doubts about our "spirit existence" made the final decision to remove life support measures, and set his spirit free to explore the universe, and to join the Lord and all the souls that had gone before.
On April 1, 2016, Aaron Scott Mathewson was laid to rest near his deceased relatives, in Glendora California.
This video was created on the seventh anniversary of Aaron's passing in remembrance of the beautiful, loving, gentle giant that Aaron was, is and always will be.
I am Aaron's step father, and friend. I miss Aaron immensely. I think of him frequently, with both sorrow and joy.
This particular year has been for me the most emotional time. It is like, after all these years, I have granted myself "permission" to feel and release the intense emotion that for seven years, I have "pushed down" and buried within my being.
Finally, if you are experiencing difficulty grieving the loss of someone that you love, get help early in the process, LET IT OUT! Your loved one would want you to find relief for the pain and suffering, and to live a life of fond memories, and peace of mind and spirit.
Help is out there. Your minister, your funeral home staff, hospice care staff, your county services, crisis hotlines, they all can help you find grief management therapists, or groups.
Do not bury it, it is not healthy for your mind or your body.
GET HELP, and HONOR your loved one by reconnecting with your joy, and peace!
I hope that this will help even just one person to free themself from subconscious or conscious torture of repressed sorrow. And....Pray for peace and joy. The Spirit is listening and wants only the best for you!
