As Boxsters get older, the tension elastic inside the convertible top that pulls the convertible top cloth inwards fails. By folding the elastic over and stapling it, the cloth is once again pulled inwards and the cable and seal will fit under the outer trim piece preventing the cable from cutting more of the rubber seal. Eventually the elastic should be changed but this will work for a while.
