FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass: Florida Leadership Remarks | Port and Maritime Security

Mark Glass, Commissioner for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), opened his discussion by underscoring the importance of Florida ports and their role in domestic security. He went on to speak about his current role as Commissioner, helping to coordinate and direct during times of natural and manmade disasters, noting that in Florida, “we don't do it better than anybody, we just do it more often.”

He spoke about the need to always be thinking of what the next evolving threat is - whether it’s cyber intrusions and industrial espionage, to foreign intelligence activity, or supply chain disruptions tied to global conflict.

He highlighted that Florida’s security posture depends on strong public-private partnerships and a culture of vigilance, and that no single agency can manage the domestic security challenges facing the nation alone.
