With every passing moment, something or the other happens across the world. But some incidents become historical when they affect hundreds or even thousands of people. One such incident was 9/11 — one of the biggest terrorist attacks in history. While it shook the very foundation of humanity, it also became a decisive turning point in global geopolitics.

At that time, a bounty of 25 million dollars (around ₹210 crores) was placed on the head of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the attack. But recently, the United States has placed double that amount — 50 million dollars (around ₹420 crores) — on the head of a sitting President of another country. Not just that, former US President Donald Trump even authorized the CIA to conduct covert operations in that country. Meanwhile, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, USS Gerald Ford, has been stationed near its shores.

This nation is neither the world’s largest economy, nor a major arms supplier, nor accused of harboring terrorists. Yet, the US seems determined to deploy its military there. That country is Venezuela.
