New Ford E-Transit electric review - the most important van of 2022. The Ford E-Transit van is probably the most important commercial vehicle in Europe on sale in 2022. Jonny reviews one on a day's real world road trip from his home to Doncaster (78 miles), then Doncaster to Luton (143 miles), then home (70 miles). Why? To collect a Honda Civic Type-R engine from Synetiq salvage and drop off to be tuned and rebuilt with Dream Automotive. Said VTec engine is destined to end up in his Austin Allegro sleeper project build. 

Designed to feel as familiar as possible, the dependable Ford Transit EV van is available in up to 25 variants (including chassis cabs, double cabs and chiller units) and two motor outputs (135kw / 184PS or 198kw / 269PS) but all have the same 400V 68kWh lithium-ion batt pack.

Transit's WLTP range is between 166 or 196 miles depending on the wheelbase and roof size. Van tested is L3 H2. Load volume also varies between9.5 and 15.1 M3, with a max payload of 1758kg.
