Ticking engines are so passé. It comes from a loose cam chain that is slapping against the engine basically. If it is sufficiently loose enough, it can tear bits off whatever it is slapping against, which can cause quite severe damage, wear down the chain, and you may also find metal shit (whatever the chain strips off) in your engine oil, all of which is NO GOOD.
FYI: I may or may not be on a sugar high when I made this video...
Usually you can just do a reset rather than buying a new one, but my spring snapped during my reset attempt.
To reset a 2008+ kawasaki ninja 250 auto CCT, just stick a SMALL flat headed screw driver into the top after removing the dust cap (stick the screw driver into the spot where the metal slip is seen in this video), and turn the screw driver (I believe counter-clockwise.. it only turns one direction to retract). Then re-install the CCT while the screw driver is still in place, and remove screw driver AFTER the CCT is fully installed.
EASY PEASY! ENGINE TICK NO MOAR!
Music: 1) Tosto che l'alba - Gherardello da Firenze
2) We All Fall Down - A-Trak ft. Jamie Lidell (ROYALTY remix)
