Human Trafficking Awareness Month is here, and it’s time to ask the hard questions: Is awareness enough?

Every January, we shine a light on the reality of trafficking in the U.S., but where is the action from those in power? Why don’t we have a federal agency dedicated to combating human trafficking? Why are law enforcement officers—many of whom genuinely want to help—left without the training and resources they need to identify and stop trafficking in our communities?
