Black Widow Marker Dye Tutorial

Learn how to create Black Widow’s newest hairstyle from Avengers: Endgame! Cowbutt Crunchies shares tips for french braiding and adding an ombre to lacefronts with alcohol-based markers such as Copics or Sharpies.

This is a synthetic wig demo; not recommended for human hair.


Additional tips:
-Since styrofoam mannequin heads can be smaller than human head sizes, we recommend braiding the wig while it’s on your own head or on a padded-up mannequin head.
-Other styles in a similar length such as the Imladris or Renee could work for this character as well!
-While stovetop polyester dyes are permanent, they can tint the lace. High quality permanent markers are an alternative solution to avoid this.
-Permanent markers such as Copics, Sharpies, and Prismacolors do contain alcohol. Using hairspray can cause the color to run or rub off if handled while wet.
-Rinsing excess will minimize mess, but color can still rub off over time from excessive handling or rubbing against costumes/clothing. This is especially more common with Sharpies.
