This video demonstrates the operation of a Siemens actuator controlled by a 0-10VDC signal. An actuator controls the position of a water valve or an air damper in an HVAC system. This actuator provides feedback of its real-time position with another 0-10VDC signal that we can read with a voltmeter or a BAS analog input. This feedback signal provides proof to the controller that the actuator is functioning properly, obeying commands, and the signal can be used as a position readout on the user interface.
