Villa Dar El Sadaka
Marrakesh, Morocco
10 Bedrooms
10 Bathrooms
6458 sqft of surface area
With its colorful ceramic terraces, its mimosa patio and its beautiful buildings devoured by climbing plants, Villa Dar El Sadaka blends into its exotic landscape. Nature also invites itself inside. Playful orangutans climb the towering wicker chandeliers that tumble from the living room's high ceilings like creepers in a modern jungle. A giant giraffe watches over the designer dining room. Each of the rooms bears the name of the animal that symbolizes it, like a totem. In the “Chamelle” suite, we take ourselves for a Tuareg lost in the heart of the desert; in the “Girafe” suite, you are immersed in the savannah, under the African starry sky; and in the “Ant” room, where a giant industrial-looking insect is enthroned, you are like in a nest dug under the ground. So, the private property of Jean-François Fourtou is an artistic project in its own right: a stunning world made up of extravagant works such as “the house of the giants” or that “fallen from the sky”. From the first light of day, while the air is still fresh, we stroll through the fantastic garden of the villa, where we come across a wrought iron horse, a lost sheep and a house fallen from the sky. We stop in the shade of an olive tree to meditate, or we pick up some mint leaves to infuse. As in a story from the Thousand and One Nights, we dine by candlelight, under the authentic Caïdale tent. On the long banquet table lit by a disco ball, we can see the parade of traditional Moroccan dishes revisited by the private chef with products from the vegetable garden.
