The US has stepped up pressure on the UK and EU to ditch net zero policies, urging them to buy more American gas instead.
Speaking at Davos, US energy secretary Chris Wright warned green rules are driving up costs, pushing industry overseas, and increasing reliance on Russian gas or high-carbon Asian imports. Donald Trump also attacked net zero, calling it a “green new scam”.
