Leicester Victoria parkrun’s Speedster: 15-Min Finisher Laps Us Twice! 🏁💨

Join Iona and I on a thrilling run at Leicester Victoria parkrun, where the incredible 15-Minute Finisher left us in awe by lapping us twice! ⚡️🌟

After the run, we enjoyed a mouthwatering breakfast at the nearby Cuban restaurant Bar Dos Hermanos, setting the stage for a day filled with adventure. Highly recommended if you’re parkrunning in Leicester.

But the fun didn't stop there! Iona and Ruth revisited the National Space Centre, last visited when we did Abbey Park parkrun (    • One Giant Leap for Iona on our Abbey Park ...   ), uncovering the wonders of the cosmos, guided by “The Doctor” in the planetarium.

Meanwhile, Ewan and I delved into the rich industrial history of Leicester at the Abbey Pump House, home of Leicester's Industrial Museum. Admiring the grand Victorian architecture and also learning a bit about film and animation along the way!

From fast-paced running to delicious breakfasts and fascinating museum visits, it was a day packed with excitement for the whole family! 🍽️🚀🏛️

Each week on this channel Ian (Dad) and Iona share our little adventure experiences, often joined by Ewan (Iona’s older brother) and Ruth (Mum) too.

Our weekends often start with parkrun. Iona is on a non-repeat parkrun tourism streak having now visited over 100 different places since she started parkrunning. But we don’t just do parkun and dash home, we love exploring the area and often use bikes and trains for our travels to keep our carbon footprint low and because it adds to the adventure too. When school holidays arrive, longer adventures are possible with Ewan and Iona both being keen cycle tourists and mountain climbers!
