Refabbing the Coop Sign

Today, we are restoring our chicken coop sign! I am finally adding the chicken names on the sign (took me a hot minute to make time for this project). 😊 I think it turned out super cute and mu Husband has already gotten it hung up on the coop!

Items needed for the project:
• Cricut cutting machine, Cricut Design Space, Cricut cutting mats, Cricut weeding tools
• Permanent vinyl
• Contact paper
• Metal sign
• Wire ties
• Sander to remove old paint and rust, scissors, wire cutters, scrp plastic to protect your work surface

Directions:
• Gathered your supplies
• Lay down plastic to protect your work surface
• Using sander to remove old paint and rust
• Clean the metal surfaces and allow to dry thoroughly
• Give the metal a good coat of spray paint and allow to dry thoroughly
• I then repainted the top portion of the sign and allowed it to dry thoroughly
• Using Design Space: design and cut out your decal(s)
• Weed each decal – removing the negative bits that are not needed
• Trim decals and apply contact paper
• Remove backing from decal
• Press the decal onto the sign pieces
• Burnish the decal to ensure firm contact between vinyl and metal
• Reassembled the sign using wire ties
