I Finally Saw The Creek Street Salmon Run | How Do You Spend A Day In Ketchikan, Alaska? | Best Beer

Because of the weather in Alaska, you can return to the same ports -- cruise after cruise after cruise -- and they can seem like different places. Ketchikan in the pouring rain does look different than Ketchikan in the late summer sun.

Which do I prefer?

Both.

This trip was special because I was able to finally see the famed salmon run in Creek Street -- a first for me and something I'd heard quite a lot about.

In the video, you'll also see the bar where I've always been welcomed and felt safe as a solo female traveler -- and where I just love to sit and people watch.

This was just one leg of my nearly 5000 mile solo travel journey -- from the lower 48 Pacific Northwest through the inside passage and across Alaska for Fairbanks, and then back to the PNW.
