Story is told in Erik's POV - and basically follows fantasy idea of Dracula movie, with Erik as immortal and Christine the woman he loves. :) In short, Erik falls in love with Christine, but she dies...he remembers going through centuries of time to find her, his soul mate, and resolves not to lose her now that he has. He brings her back, making her his. Christine struggles with fear and doubt at first (the rain falling)- but he vows his eternal love and protection, and in her heart she knows that she'll always belong to him. Once she accepts that, she finds true freedom at last.
