In Part 1 of this 2-part video, we discussed the ideal candidates for non-surgical rhinoplasty. Today, we are going to examine the opposite: which patients are poor candidates for a non-surgical rhinoplasty and would be better suited by a surgical or "classic" rhinoplasty.
What cannot be treated with a non-surgical rhinoplasty:
1. Bulbous tip
2. Wide nostrils
3. Large hump
4. Over-projected nose
Going from a bulbous tip to a refined tip is difficult to achieve with fillers because you have to apply just the right amount of filler to make it look like a sharp tip. When you add filler, you can make the nose look wider, since you are adding volume. All you can do is add the illusion of a refined tip, but if the nose is quite bulbous, that is almost impossible to achieve.
You cannot widen nostrils with a non-surgical rhinoplasty either. If the nostrils are wide or flared, you cannot use fillers to make the illusion of smaller nostrils.
If the nose is too big, adding filler makes the nose look even larger. Again, if the tip is over-projected, adding filler will only make the nose look longer.
