Namib- Naukluft National Park, Jewel of Namibia

The Namib-Naukluft National Park is the largest national park in Africa and the Namib desert is the oldest desert on earth. It features Sossus vlei, a dry clay pan, which is seldom filled with water. The average rainfall is 50 mm/year. Dead vlei is renowned for its fossilised thorn trees with its eerie atmosphere. The sand dunes with their brilliant colours are of the largest sand dunes in the world reaching up to two hundred metres. The orange colour is due to the iron in the sand being oxidized over time. The video was recorded by me in April 2022 after recent exceptional rain in this dry and arid landscape. The music is royalty-free music: Instructions for Living a Life by Savfk
