This episode will cover another place of historic, religious and touristic importance, i.e Shringverpur. Located at 40 km from Prayagraj, Shringverpur according to the epic Ramayana, Lord Rama, Sita and Laxman during their 14-year long exile crossed the holy Ganges from this place.
This place is famed as capital of Nishadraj (King of fishermen community), easily accessible from Ayodhya (170 km) and Varanasi (155 km).
We covered the following places:
a) Shringi Rishi Temple: It houses the idols of Sage Shringi, Shanta Devi, and Devi Sitala. This temple sits atop a hillock overlooking the sprawling expanse of holy river Ganga, where people enjoy boating rides, as well as evening Ganga prayer is performed every evening.
b) Ram Chaura Ghat: It is the place where Lord Rama is believed to have crossed the Ganges
c) Ram Sayan Ashram: Here, Lord Rama is said to have taken rest.
d) Excavation Site Shringverpur: Under the patronage of Govt. of India and Archeological Survey of India, this site is said to be the place where the kingdom of Nishadraj was once upon a time located.
e) Nishadraj Park: Here, huge statue of Lord Rama embracing Nishadraj has been erected along with basic amenities for the tourists with a large spacious parking lot for private vehicles.
