Starting Our Rural Farmhouse Renovation | Old House to Dream Home (Ep. 1)

We’re officially making a start on the renovation of our Edwardian farmhouse in the English countryside. Have we bitten off more than we can chew? 😅

In this first renovation episode, I’m beginning the early work around the house. Lifting old carpets, taking down curtains, and carefully uncovering what’s been hidden over the years. Original floorboards, small details, and a few unexpected finds that remind us just how much history this house holds.

There’s no rush here. This stage is about understanding the house, seeing what’s worth saving, and letting the building guide the next steps. Every small discovery helps shape how we approach the renovation and how we make this home work for our family.

This is Episode 1 of our renovation series. A quiet, practical start, and the beginning of turning this old house into our family home.
