Little Ruckomechi is the smaller version of the main Ruckomechi camp with only three rooms, and it's own separate dining and lounge facilities. The camp itself is set well away from the main camp so you do feel that you are on your own here. It is really designed for small travel groups and family groups to have their own space.
The camp is still within the Ruckomechi Concession area over on the Western side of Mana Pools. Being in a private concession does give you the flexibility of different activities that you could not do when you are in the public areas of the National Park. So these would include night drives and being able to go by motor boat onto the river for fishing or game viewing. There is still the usual walks and game drives, however you will find that the guides here do prefer to stay in their vehicles as they can drive off road if necessary to enhance a sighting so walking is more of a planned activity rather than reacting to a situation like fresh lion tracks where following on foot would be necessary in the main park, here there are so many loop roads they tend to just use the vehicles.
This concession does have a great reputation for leopard sightings and probably more so than any where else in Mana Pools.
