Brahmatal Snow Trek: A Snowy Adventure (Almost) to the Top! ❄️️

Hey everyone, Ashi here! Buckle up for a snowy adventure unlike any other! I recently embarked on the incredible Brahmatal trek in the Garhwal Himalayas, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride (literally, at times!).

This journey started far from the snowy peaks - in bustling Mumbai. I took a train to Delhi, where the real adventure began. We hopped into cabs for a scenic ride to Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world. Feeling rejuvenated (and maybe a little intimidated!), we boarded a tempo traveller for the final leg to Lohajung, our base camp nestled amidst breathtaking mountains.

Our homestay in Lohajung was the perfect pitstop to acclimatise to the altitude and gear up for the trek. The plan was a 3-day adventure to reach the summit, Jhendi Top, and witness the majestic Brahmatal lake nestled in a glacial cirque.

But as they say, mountains have a mind of their own. While we started strong, conquering beautiful meadows and dense forests, Mother Nature threw us a curveball - a massive snowstorm! The second day, as we approached Jhendi Top, the snowfall intensified, making the trail treacherous. Prioritizing safety, our guides made the tough call to descend.

While we didn't quite reach the summit, the beauty of the snow-laden Himalayas left me speechless. We battled through snowdrifts, captured stunning winter landscapes on camera (and maybe had a snowball fight or two!), and experienced the true power of nature.

This vlog takes you on this snowy adventure with me - from the train journey to the breathtaking landscapes of Lohajung, and the challenges and triumphs of the trek. Even though we didn't reach the top, the experience was unforgettable.
