My Biggest Lessons From 2025 As A Muslim university Student

In this video, I reflect on some of the most important lessons I’ve learned through university, faith, and personal growth, all rooted in Islam, patience, and self development. It is based on my experiences, and how I tried to stay afloat during my first years of university, trying to stay productive, self-improve, become a better Muslim, a better person, stay motivated and on my schedule.

We talk about true gratefulness and what it means to say alhamdulillah not only when life goes well, but also when things fall apart. Gratitude is deeply connected to Qadr, Allah’s decree, and trusting that what did not happen was protection rather than failure.

I also discuss comparison and the difference between healthy and unhealthy comparison. In a world of grades, jobs, internships, and constant pressure, comparison can destroy inner peace. When used correctly, it can motivate growth without jealousy. We explore how to flip jealousy into learning, make duʿāʾ for others, and trust Allah’s timing.

Another major topic is friendship and the importance of having a small, sincere Muslim friend circle built on accountability, honesty, and salah. Friends who remind you to pray, correct you with care, and pull you closer to Allah are a true blessing.

I share a powerful lesson about asking questions, especially in university and learning environments. Asking questions is not a weakness. It is how knowledge is gained. Even in Islam, learning has always been rooted in asking, reflecting, and seeking clarity.

Finally, everything ties back to niyyah, intention. Whether it is studying, friendships, asking questions, or chasing goals, intention changes everything. When actions are done sincerely for Allah, barakah follows. True success comes from humility, surrender, and recognizing that everything is from Allah alone.
