An angsty punk rocker looking back on a Southern California childhood that felt limitless and lonely at the same time.
Latchkey kid days stretched into forever, riding bikes with friends, surfing at sunrise, camping under open skies, water skiing all afternoon, and then chasing snow on the slopes by night.
But beneath the freedom is tension. Parents gone. Time moving too fast. The feeling that no one was really watching. The memories glow, but they’re cracked around the edges.
Sonically, this version leans hard into late-70s / early-80s punk urgency, driving guitars, tight drums, and vocals that sound like they’re pushing back against the past instead of romanticizing it.
