Up to S$53 billion worth of construction contracts are expected to be awarded in 2026. That is around 5% more than last year, says National Development Minister, Chee Hong Tat, at a flagship industry event. Between 2027 and 2030, annual construction demand is projected to be valued between S$39 and S$46 billion. The strong outlook is driven by key projects such as Changi Airport's Terminal 5, as well as a boost in the housing sector. From April, small and medium sized construction firms will get more funding to automate their processes. Natalie Ong with the report. We also spoke with Lee Kay Chai - President of Singapore Contractors Association Limited. He shared his insights on efforts being made to uplift the Built Environment sector.
