In remembrance of Pastor Hubert L. Powell Jr. of Windsor, CT, who passed away 28th of Deccember 2021 at the age of 72.

Pastor Hubert L. Powell, Jr., was affectionally known to all as Pastor Powell born to the late Hubert L. Powell, Sr and Edith Jefferson Powell in Hartford, CT on December 2, 1949.

Hubert Powell was the leader of Latter Rain Christian Fellowship COGIC for 36 years. He had a unique and distinct style of playing Gospel Jazz on the piano, and the organ. Hubert Powell was known for his smooth jazz classics like "Speak To My Heart" and others. His music could be smooth jazz, but it also can be funky like with the "Anyway You Bless Me" chant.

The song "Cry Loud" is taken from Hubert Powell's independently produced CD "Thank You For Your Touch" from 1993 on the PepperCo Record label, now hard to find. The song was written and arranged by Powell himself and features, Denise Stevenson, Shirleen Hodge, Steven Hodge, Jacquie Powell, Doobie Powell, Monica Evans, Melanie Otey, Stephani, Regina Burgess, and Marichal Monts on background vocals.
