Shawn Michaels vs. Price Purgold - NXT Championship Match (WWF Royal Rumble)

Just a few months into his rookie contract with the WWF, the current NXT Champion, ‘The Investment’ Price Purgold is already ruffling feathers at the Orlando Developmental facility in Florida.

Arrogantly, Purgold has ignored gestures and formalities from other Superstars in the locker room, as well as, most importantly, the members of production and corporate.

One of the rather more important names that the NXT Champion and self proclaimed ‘Greatest Investment in Pro Wrestling’ has rubbed the wrong way is former 5x World Champion and 1st ever Grand Slam Champion in the WWE Hall of Famer, the ‘Heart Break Kid’ Shawn Michaels.

Just last month, running through technique and microphone vocality in a promo class with HBK and Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltmann, the NXT Champion Purgold cut a very vulgar and obscene promo on former WWF European Champion, X-Pac, mentioning his days as a drug addict, and the adult film that he and Joanie ‘Chyna’ Laurer filmed shortly after their simultaneous release from the WWE back in the late 2000’s.

X-Pac, seemingly furious by Purgold’s promo, took the high route and walked out of the promo class for a much needed cool off period. However, it was Michaels who stepped up for X-Pac and retaliated on Purgold for his promo, stating that it was “Cheap shot, bull shit and NOT what we expect from our NXT Champion.”

Purgold responded to Michaels by saying, “Old man. This is my championship. I earned it. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll say what I want. When I want and to whom I want, including you Fart Break Kid. And if you got a problem with me being champion, you’ll just have to take it from me.”
