The claviorgan is an instrument that combines the sound production mechanisms of the harpsichord and the organ and usually features the bodies of both instruments superimposed and connected. Its use was already documented in Spain and Italy at the end of the 15th century, although it spread to the rest of Europe in the 16th century. Although it does not have a specific repertoire, this video includes some Spanish, Italian, and English keyboard works from the 16th and 17th centuries, which showcase its tonal capabilities.
