Early 2003 New England was defined by injuries. Rosevelt Colvin was lost for the year in Week 2 vs. Philly. Ted Johnson had broken his foot. They'd lose David Patten and Ted Washington in this game and more starters as the season continued.
Of course, it would help develop other players and although they'd lose in Week 4 at Washington they'd go on to set an NFL record for consecutive wins going into 2004.
