The Covid-19 pandemic continues to have devastating impacts on the global and U.S. economy. As a result of quarantines and social distancing, the bulk of the economic activity has shut down, leaving thousands of workers and small businesses in the U.S. struggling and stock markets reeling. The federal government has made attempts to stabilize the economy, but will it be enough?
To discuss what lies ahead, today’s guest is Cecilia Rouse, dean of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Rouse, whose interests are in labor economics, served as a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2009 to 2011.
