Student-Led Instruction Explained and Demonstrated

I usually teach 5 or 6 preps every year and every semester. Standing at the front of the classroom all day and teaching to PowerPoints ended for me about 10 years ago. That is too much talking and frankly today's students won't stay off their phones long enough to listen. In this video I show you how student-centered learning happens in my classroom. Student-led learning is when students research the answers, then report back to the class their findings. This method of teaching keeps students engaged and involved in the learning process and keeps them off their cell phones. When students know that they are responsible for material during a time frame, they will work because they know that they will be called on to present...or "lead".
