Italo M. - 5th grade- Everest Poetry Contest 2024

It is with great joy that we present the finalists of our Poetry Contest 2024!

Everest International School's Poetry Contest 2024 took place on April 25th and 26th. In their English classes, students from grade 2 to 4 are introduced to the genre by studying poems for children and presenting them, and students from grades 5 to 7 write their own poems. The finalists presented their poems to classmates and parents in the auditorium, where a jury of teachers, alumni, and graduating students evaluated their work. All finalists recorded a video with their presentations.

Our 5th grade students were assisted by their English teacher, Ms. Caroline. Here is the student Italo presenting the poem he wrote, Horses.

We can do so many things with horses
like we can use them as means of transport
and you can write poems of them, with verses,
you can make equestrians in sand courts.

With horses you can do so many sports,
Like, double loop, drum and any others,
but to ride a horse we never use shorts,
cuz if you use it, something can occur.

Horses are intelligent animals,
some time we can think that the horses scream,
it's just that they just want to play with us,
I love to see them when I'm eating jam.

Horses are cute, like a beautiful cat
but some of them are not, like a big mess
