Learn the ins and outs of connecting a garden hose to your NYC fire hydrant. Watch a demonstration of how to use a hydrant wrench, 3" cap to hose adapter, and reduced pressure zone backflow preventer (RPZ) between the hose and the hydrant. ***These instructions are for registered GreenThumb community gardens in NYC who have already received a hydrant permit this year from the NYC Dept. of Environmental Protection. If you have not yet gotten a hydrant permit, please reach out to your Outreach Coordinator for instructions.
