Cabinet approved a landmark ₹69,725 crore package to transform India’s shipbuilding and maritime sector.

Key highlights:
Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme (₹24,736 Cr) – incentives up to 25% for shipyards & green vessels
Shipbreaking Credit Note (₹4,001 Cr) – 40% scrap value credit to promote new ship construction
National Shipbuilding Mission – structured procurement & foreign collaboration
Maritime Development Fund (₹25,000 Cr) – long-term financing for ports, tonnage, shipyards, coastal transport
Shipbuilding Development Scheme (₹19,989 Cr) – greenfield & brownfield clusters, risk coverage
Legal & Policy Reforms – new maritime laws + infrastructure status for large ships

Impact:✅ 30 lakh new jobs✅ ₹4.5 lakh Cr investment
✅ 4.5M GT shipbuilding capacity✅ 2,500 new vessels✅ Port capacity expansion by 250 MTPA
