The Longest Ever Boston May Fair in 2023

On Saturday he 29th April the 898th Boston May Fair opened at 12 noon, for what will be the longest ever Boston May Fair in its history running until Monday the 8th of May.

As one of the largest street fairs in the country, Boston once again features some of the biggest and and best rides in the country. Dominating the cattle market and towering over 130 feet over the town, was Global Events & Attractions impressive Giant Wheel taking, centre stage at the back of the Cattle market.

Over 20 large machines are open in Boston, with plenty of new rides joining the regulars. Along with the aforementioned Giant Wheel, also new this year was Albert John Evan’s Dodgem’s built by British firm PWS. While the Dodgem had opened in Boston’s Central Park last October, this was the first time they had opened at Boston May Fair. Adding yet another major Notts & Derby fair to his tour, was Kenny Raywood with his Power Shot Reverse Bungee while on the other side of the fair, dominating the end of the Marketplace was Joey Noyce’s Sky Flyer, who was attending for the first time in over 10 years since he presented the Froggit in Boston.

Regular favourites in Boston are back, including Albert Evans famous Atmosphere Creator Waltzer. The Atmosphere Creator was back for the first time since 2019 after spending the summer at the amusement park at Tir Prince in Wales last year. While on the Green was Bert Holland’s Waltzer which proves popular with the families.

Returning after attending for the first time last year was Ryan Pearson’s Matterhorn standing on Billy Crow’s second position, while outside the New England Hotel was Mark Thurston’s Chaos KMG Freakout, which is considered by some as one of the best presented examples in the country.

Once again in the Marketplace two Superbowl’s faced off, with Austin Holland’s back again, while Jamie Clarke stood a few feet further up in the central area.

Along with Albert Evans Dodgem attending for the first time, two other tracks were also in attendance, with Michael Thompson’s in The Green, while Billy Hebborn’s Dodgem opened in the Market Place once again.

Dane Crow’s Extreme returned again and always proves popular in Boston, standing prominently in the Cattlemarket. Scott Holland’s Vertigo, a Fabbri Booster was the only example at Boston once again this year.

With over 20 rides from Bishtons Gallopers to the extreme thrill rides, Boston features a strong line up this year. Even if riding is not your thing there are many games such as Animal Kingdom or Kentucky Derby to play. There is also a wide selection of catering and children's rides spread across the town centre.

Boston May Fair is on for is longest ever duration this year opening for 10 days in total covering the May Day Bank and King’s Coronation Bank Holiday’s.
