There are a couple of firsts here. The 1st ride that Jayne and I have done together. The first ride with my Bafang E-assist fitted. Also the first using my new Insta 360 1 inch 360 camera and then fully editing it in the Insta360 software.
I will be writing a blog post about fitting the Bafang motor and the issues that have gone with fitting a kit designed for bicycles onto recumbent trikes. However, after a few teething issues, I am very happy with how it performs. The ability to get home back up the hill we live on makes a huge difference to my confidence in going for a ride. While the trike is a totally different experience to the saddle sores from riding a conventional bicycle.
Yes, it's low, it's the only drawback, we worry about being seen when out on the roads. But the benefits are well worth the risk and we will do our best to litigate the danger.
