This video addresses some painful points for getting acLotus Elise passing the MoT when fitted with none original parts. In many countries a none original part or upgrade part is considered a modification and requires a special approval based on a certificate . Many Web shops offer Lotus Parts that are not tested and approved by an external body or national authority. Yet they sell the parts often under the original part number. once fitted, they will fail MoT because they are not original ( Belgium for instance) , yet the part number marked is.... In short we got tricked.... Here is an example
