Chain saws humming, rakes scraping, and cut vegetation sliding across asphalt. These are the sounds of fire safety. The saying ‘prepare for the worst and hope for the best’ definitely applies when it comes to the task before #CCCInlandEmpire Corpsmembers. They’re performing brush clearance around facilities and buildings to create defensible space as part of @CaliforniaStateParks' Facility Ignition Prevention Program, or FIPP. The hope is a wildfire never gets close enough to impact the buildings at Mount San Jacinto State Park. But, if a fire were to encroach on this Riverside County landscape, the prep work is done. #CCCResourceConservation #CaliforniaConservationCorps
