President Trump will give remarks from Detroit on Tuesday afternoon as he seeks to sell his economic agenda amid concerns over rising costs and questions over high health care premiums.
Trump has largely blamed Democrats and his predecessor for the country's economic anxiety while touting his own policies, pointing to efforts to boost domestic manufacturing and his sweeping tariffs.
The comments come as the administration faces criticism over its probe of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, immigration enforcement agenda and moves in Venezuela.
The president is also expected to tour a car manufacturing plant near the city ahead of his speech.
The event at the Detroit Economic Club is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EST.
