Apollo 7 was the first crewed flight of the Apollo Program. The crew, consisting of Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and Walter Cunningham, tested the Apollo Command/Service Module (CSM) in Low Earth orbit over the course of 10 days.
The mission was the first crewed flight following the Apollo 1 fire, and was intended to prove the CSM design changes made to prevent another fire. It was the last Saturn IB flight until the Skylab 2 mission in 1973, and the final overall launch from Launch Complex 34 at Cape Canaveral.
