Trump vs Iran | মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে ফের বেজে উঠেছে যুদ্ধের দামামা। মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে ৩ মার্কিন রণতরী ইরানকে ‘সবক শেখাতে’ বিমানবাহী রণতরী ও যুদ্ধবিমান। এছাড়াও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সামরিক সরঞ্জাম নতুন করে বহাল করেছে ওয়াশিংটন। ইরানকে কার্যত ঘিরে ফেলে, বলা ভালো তেহরানকে রীতিমতো চোখ রাঙিয়ে কিন্তু ‘নরম সুরে’ বার্তা মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্পের। জানালেন, ‘আমেরিকা আলোচনার জন্য প্রস্তুত। এবং আমরা জানি, ইরানও চুক্তি করতে চায়।’ ইরানের সঙ্গে সংঘাত পরিস্থিতির মাঝেই সম্প্রতি এক মার্কিন সংবাদমাধ্যম দেওয়া সাক্ষাৎকারে ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প বলেন, “ইরানের পরিস্থিতি দ্রুত বদলাতে শুরু করেছে। ওদের জলসীমার পাশেই আমাদের বিশাল নৌবহর পৌঁছে গিয়েছে। যা ভেনেজুয়েলার চেয়েও বড়।” এরপরই নরম সুরে ট্রাম্পের বার্তা, “ইরান আমাদের সঙ্গে যুক্তি করতে চায়। ওরা বহুবার আমাদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করেছে। আসলে ওরা চাইছে কথা বলতে।” এদিকে ট্রাম্পের বারতার পরই ইরানের উদ্দেশে বার্তা দিয়ে পেন্টাগনের এক শীর্ষকর্তা বলেন, “আমরা ইরানের সঙ্গে আলোচনায় প্রস্তুত।”

The drums of war are sounding again in the Middle East. In the region, three U.S. aircraft carriers, along with carrier-based warplanes, have been deployed to “teach Iran a lesson.” In addition, Washington has dispatched important military equipment once again.

Effectively surrounding Iran—or, one could say, glaring at Tehran—U.S. President Donald Trump sent a “soft-toned” message, stating, “America is ready for negotiations, and we know that Iran also wants to make a deal.”

Amid rising tensions with Iran, Trump recently told a U.S. media outlet, “The situation in Iran is rapidly changing. Our massive naval fleet has reached near their waters, even larger than Venezuela.”

Following this, in a softer tone, Trump added, “Iran wants to negotiate with us. They have reached out to us many times. In fact, they want to talk.”

After Trump’s message, a top Pentagon official also addressed Iran, saying, “We are ready to engage in talks with Iran.”
