NPP flagbearer aspirant Bryan Acheampong has strongly rejected claims that the New Patriotic Party is tribal or dependent on an Akan presidential candidate to win elections.
Speaking on national cohesion and leadership, Dr Acheampong insists the New Patriotic Party is a national party whose strength lies in competence, leadership quality, and broad national appeal not ethnicity or regional identity.
He argues that Ghanaians are increasingly voting on performance and vision rather than tribal or sectional considerations.
