Fragmented Care, CoC Accreditation, & Overall Survival in Lung Cancer | Annals Animated (Sep 2025)

Authors reviewed cases of lung cancer patients who underwent resection and adjuvant chemotherapy from 2006 – 2020. Patients were grouped by those receiving fragmented care or not, and patients receiving fragmented care were further divided by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation status of the hospital. Authors concluded that when care was fragmented, receiving adjuvant chemotherapy at CoC-accredited centers had higher 5-year overall survival rates than those with fragmented care at non-CoC centers.
