In this video I share one of my favorite childhood treats that I've adapted to be sourdough! These brownies and gooey, crunchy, chocolatey, and full of good memories! With a sourdough brownie base, a gooey marshmallow center, and crunchy Rice Crispy topping, there's something in this brownie for everyone. Simple to make and delicious to eat, I think this may just become a new favorite!
Marshmallow Rice Crispy Brownies
Brownie Ingredients
On the Stove
1/2 C butter
1/2 C oil
1 C chocolate chips
1/2 C cocoa
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 C sourdough discard
On the Countertop
4 eggs
1 C white sugar
1 C brown Sugar
4 Tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
Brownie Topping Ingredients
5 C miniature marshmallows
2 Tbsp butter
2 C chocolate chips
1 1/4 C peanut butter
3 C Rice Crispy cereal
Step 1. Add butter, oil, chocolate chips, cocoa and salt to a small sauce pan and melt until combined. Then add sourdough starter.
Step 2. In a separate bowl, add eggs, white sugar, brown sugar, water and vanilla. Mix until combined. Then add the liquid in the sauce pan to this mixture.
Step 3. Grease a brownie pan (9x13), and add batter to pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 mins.
Step 4. Put marshmallows over top brownies and place back in oven until marshmallows have melted, then remove from the oven.
Step 5. In a medium sauce pan, add butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Stir over low/ medium heat until melted, then add the Rice Crispy cereal.
Step 6. Pour Rice Crispy gently over the top of the marshmallows. Allow to cool and enjoy!
