With the e-Gate, passengers are able to submit the "Declaration of Personal Effects and Unaccompanied Articles" (the Declaration) electronically while waiting for checked baggage, without needing to submit the Declaration in paper. After retrieving their baggage, the passenger may simply walk through the gate for clearance, with no need to stop or wait.
