Walking a circuit of some 25 km, southwest of Leeuwarden. By far my longest vid, but the landscapes & villages of this part of Fryslân are certainly worth it!
The day started out quite dark & cloudy – not to mention the fresh easterly breeze – but it all ended up on a marvellous note with outstanding weather & blue skies. Being half a Frisian myself i still didn’t imagine to encounter such nice villages and hamlets: Deinum, Boksum, Hilaard, Jorwerd, Baard, Oosterlittens, Hoptille and Blessum. Although at times i loathed the long & winding roads, often of concrete; the vast and flat landscape of dairy pasture and meadows has a beauty of its own. Thx to the acoustic properties of the new GoPro – lots and lots of birds to be heard! Among them Rooks, Lapwings [Kieviten] and Godwits [Grutto's].
