The Sudan Test is used to identify a Lipids.
1 drop of each sample was applied to filter paper and dried.
The filter paper was incubated for 5 min in 0.5% Sudan Red IV solutions dissolved in 95% ethanol.
After incubation, the filter was washed with 95% ethanol and air dried.
The Sudan Red IV is hydrophobic, so it will bind to any lipids in the sample, staining them red.
