Ended up 4th on the night. It was a great showing from a lot of teams tonight. Automatic put half the field on the sidelines 10 laps in after taking control early. Visit Pittsburgh/ Project 413 did a phenomenal job controlling late attacks for Dan Uhranowsky while he finished it up like a real g. Closed a late attack by Automatic and went early on the final lap, fending off the best the field could muster.
I wanted for more on the night, but had an absolute blast nonetheless. The highlight of the weekend for me was getting to race with one of my best friends (and coach) John Harris for the first time. I made the questionable call of bridging up to a breakaway he was in halfway through the race, but never quite recovered in time to offer any meaningful help, but being in the break at a big time race with him was a solid memory in the bank. I spent the last third of the race trying to recover from going proper deep on that bridging effort and didn't have the legs in the final.
This course retains the title of my favorite crit course ever. 10/10 You should come next time.
