An ambush ends the King's life; before his eternal slumber, however, the King--thought to be the last of his line--bestows a mysterious amulet upon Maleficus, whom seems to be more than meets the eye, delivering the amulet to someone named Jeoffry.; captain of the Blades and one of the few that knows of the only heir of the now-dead King.
Continuing where we left off in a small village with all but an Inn and one other house, whose owner requests that Maleficus look into a strange fishing quest, which our hero accepts; perhaps a handsome reward should await Maleficus, as he's now not only free from the dank, disgusting cell in which the King took him and freed him from, but he also seems to carry more importance than he, or anyone, ever thought...
