Thermopylae Monument (Molon labe) - raised to the memory of Leonidas, King of Sparta and the spartans who fought and died alongside him. (This video includes aerial / drone shots.)
In 480 BC, the persian king Xerxes send an army to conquer the greek cities, folowing the defeat of his father at Marathon, 10 years earlier. Vastly outnumbered and with virtually no chances for victory, 2000 greeks stayed and fight until the end, marking the most memorable last stand of the ancient world.
